Is your browser able to display a websites as they were designed?

If you are not using Firefox, Chrome or Safari the simple answer is you're probably not! There are new web- standards being devised, and not all browsers are keeping-up and capable of undestanding the majority of new commands (in HTML5 and CSS3) that will soon be contained in much of the new content on the internet.

How Facebook is ruining sharing

22/11/2011

It's been a very busy couple of weeks - absolutely flat out actually! But I digress, the reason form posting today is to share the c|net article below. Something I had come across myself and found annoying, but that's Facebook for ya!

New ScandiumWeb.ie site goes live!

25/10/2011

We've been working on this new site for a while in the background. As always it had to take second place to customers work and as a result it's moved along quite slowly.  It's still not actually finished but the functionality of the site is working great and the only thing left is content so we decided to release this now and finish the rest at out leisure.

Hope you like it - and feel free to make any comments or suggestions smiley

Moje pierwsze polskie słowa na stronie internetowej

24/10/2011

Yes, as the title clearly states I've put 'my first polish words on a website'. Ruth at D11dental.ie wanted a polish flag and some text to let the polish community know that with the assistance of her polish dental nurse, if necessary, communication would always be achieved...

I thought the neatest way to do it was by making the polish appear in a 'tip' when you hover over the flag. That idea went down well so I made the 'tip' look nicer and I think were on to a winner.

Experimenting with CSS3

26/9/2011

We're up to firefox 6.0.1 and the CSS3 animation seems to be working a treat on both it and Google Chrome (it should also work in Safari but I have yet to test it). Predictably Internet Explorer is falling short of the mark. Surprisingly Opera is too!

Even thought browsers are supporting many elements of CSS3 the W3C (World Wide Web Consortuim) has not made it as a full standard yet.  Hopefully that means all the browsers will catch up and hopefully Internet Explorer will not take their normal route...
